Hmmm…an interestng episode.
I appreciated the reading of “Auld Lang Syne”, it lent a grace and substance to the words that fit the turning of one year to the next.
“The Heart Is A Determined Hunter” was an interesting premise, with some fine characterizations. Drake’s narration, including the audio tricks, gave the story a weight that only served to add to the details. Smith’s use of familiar horror tropes (or genre tropes in general) served the story well, and I felt the main character’s reactions were fairly reasonable all in all, though I did wonder if he gave in a bit too soon. While I know the story had nothing to do with the movie, I found I couldn’t stop thinking about THE SHINING while I listened on my walk.
Aloha Terror Tribe!
Oh Mister Santoro, so good to know I am not alone in my cringing fear of this crazy-depressing-end-of-the-year thing that is forced upon us after the heights of the two greatest holidays of all history Halloween & Christmas. I vow to keep coming back to the warm cozy dark nook, where you always have room for just one more and listen to a chilling tale. Thank you – Aloha.
