We’ve lost a Sofanaut – RIP Larry Santoro

July 26, 2014 by Drew S

I’ve woke up this morning and my world has just fell away.

My friend Lawrence Santoro has died. I thought of Larry as my brother. I will miss him so very very much. Tycelia my thoughts and prayers surround you and give you comfort at this time.

Will miss you Larry – your friend Tony

  1. I will miss his voice in my ear, oh so sorely. Podcasts have lost a great personality.

  2. Farewell Larry.
You made dark, cold nights just…a little darker, colder…and more welcoming.

  3. After I lost my job, Mr Santoro become one of the few stable things i could look forward to each week. I loved his presence on the show and I’m going to dearly miss him. What a great talent he was in both his readings and writing. I’ll sorely miss you sir.

  4. My heart goes out to the Santoro family. I’ve been listening to Tales to terrify since the beginning, and will miss his voice and style tremendously. I have called him “Uncle Larry” in my head and found comfort in his voice. Rest in peace, Uncle.

  5. This is very sad news. My only consolation is that I am only on episode 47, so I have a lot of time left with Larry to look forward to. Fortunately he’s left behind an incredible body of work for us to enjoy and remember him by. Condolences to his family, friends, colleagues, and fellow fans.

  6. I am reminded of that moment in the Fellowship of the Ring wherein Gandalf is pulled from the bridge in Moria. I can’t imagine TTT without Larry Santoro.

  7. This news breaks my heart. Thank you Mr. Santoro. I will miss hearing your voice. Rest well. Sending prayers to the Santoro family.

  8. Way sad, didn’t know it was this serious…
My deepest sympathy to spouse, friends, family..
And all the stand in the corner types, like myself that just loved the show..

  9. His enthusiasm was inspirational, I am thankful we are blessed with these recordings. Long may Tales to Terrify continue his great work.

  10. Dear Larry,
I will miss our cozy sessions together in the nook with you and Mahler. You were and will continue to be a great source of strength and comfort to us all.

May you live forever on in our hearts.

  11. So sorry to hear about Mr Larry Santoro’s passing. It is hard to imagine Tales to Terrify without him and his amazing voice.

  12. I was here since episode one.
An outstanding podcast anthology and a triumph of early e-publishing.
Larry has left us an outstanding anthology here.

  13. This podcast and The NoSleep Podcast are my favorite horror podcasts. Larry Santoro introduced me to so much great classic and modern horror. Hearing about the Bram Stroker awards, listening to news about upcoming events and books, and of course Mr.Santoro’s friendly and welcoming introduction and parting words made this podcast special and I always looked forward to a new episode. This podcast got me through, and will continue to, many a long bus ride or afternoon. I am so sorry and sadto hear of Mr. Santoro’s passing. Condolences to his family and friends. He will be missed.
